I never met a hangry macaroni eater. You?
Was it my family growing up then the one I grew and now my cozy 'bunker' as one of the kids calls my place in CT that makes me feel good or the vibe in the room at a great Italian place (Risotto's Thornwood 2 weeks ago when I had this conversation with 2 family members), or the spaghetti. I contend it could be the macaroni. Macaroni eaters are happier.
Italians who grew up eating macaroni understand the lightness around the dining table on macaroni nights.
I just would love to do a poll. And as an observer doing story work and research for more than 20 years, not to mention my BA thesis using quantitative measurements on the women v. men equality politics of 1986, I have some idea of how to do this.
I think if I polled 25 people that eat macaroni every day their weight, LDL, and mood (would be in the healthy range.)
I also saw this among people I know living in Italy. We ate macaroni there every day any time I've gone. Everyone seems more jovial.
And according to this study in Parma reported by various outlets and in Mens Health here, pasta “seems to boost mood…”
